Epirus: A sarai going towards Ioannina

The sarai is a luxurious building sort of palace that has been built for a pasha, vizier, sultan, military or bey. Externally it is a beautiful building like a large neoclassical one. The word sarai is a Turkish word which means big castle, palace. Many Sarai date back to 1600. Many Ottoman pashas had built many brilliant Sarai, such as Ali Pasha of Ioannina. In Ioannina there is a large sarai that was once inhabited by Ali Pasha.
