Time Period: 1965 - 1970
The Holy Monastery of Pameggiston Taxiaechon in Kremasta, is one of the most historic Monasteries of Crete. It was one of the richest Monasteries, not only in the Prefecture of Lassithi but also in the whole of Crete, a fact that facilitated its welfare actions, the maintenance of its school and the financial support for the reconstruction of churches and schools in the surrounding villages.
The main phase of the construction of the Monastery lasted from 1593 to 1622.
