Folk painting in Sarti, Halkidiki

Time Period: 1971 - 1975

Sarti is a large settlement with about 1,100 inhabitants on the edge of the Sithonia peninsula. The ancient city with the same name, a member of the Athenian Alliance, was probably in the same place. Sarti is a refugee village and some of the refugee houses survive to this day and were built when refugees first came after the Asia Minor catastrophe.

Date: 1975

The photographs are offered in limited editions, printed on premium quality Hahnenmuhle Photo Luster photo paper, 260 gsm, at high resolution.
